The CEREC System: PrimeScan and Mill

WHAT IS THE CEREC SYSTEM, AND HOW IS IT USED?
A dental intraoral scanner is a device that captures three-dimensional digital impressions. This scanner helps create a digital replica of the patient’s entire mouth, eliminating the need for uncomfortable, bulky impression trays that take minutes to set. A dental milling machine fabricates “prosthetics”, which include fillings, crowns, and bridges. An in-house milling unit allows a dentist to prepare and deliver a restoration in one appointment.

Flatiron Family Dental’s Dentsply Sirona PrimeScan takes a scan and appears on the screen in seconds. Rated the most accurate scanner on the market year after year, the PrimeScan produces photorealistic data for the dentist (and patient!) to view, examine, and design! Patients can expect yearly 3D wellness scans to monitor and track changes in their mouth.

Our Dentsply Primemill is used in conjunction with the PrimeScan to provide custom restorations chairside. Not only does this eliminate bulky impression trays, but it also eliminates the need for temporaries and wait times/additional appointments for preparing and delivering restorations. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology and CAD/CAM strategies, our in-office mill creates your restoration from a ceramic block that looks and feels natural within minutes. Hello same day service!

Benefits of the CEREC System

SAME DAY SERVICE

Decreased chair time for patients

increased patient comfort

increased patient understanding of treatment

CBCT 3D IMAGING SYSTEM

What is a CBCT, and How is it Used?

A CBCT (Cone-Beam Computed Tomography) is a type of imaging equipment used when traditional dental x-rays are insufficient to diagnose or treat dental complications. A CBCT offers the most accurate available three-dimensional image of a patient’s hard tissue and has become an essential asset to dentists, especially for patients in need of dental implants.

Flatiron Family Dental’s periodontist and implant specialist, Dr. Loeb, will use the CBCT to assess if a patient qualifies for the placement of dental implants.

Flatiron Family Dental’s endodontist, Dr. Burke, may use the CBCT to locate a crack in a tooth otherwise not visible or to see the root anatomy of a particular tooth before starting treatment.

Benefits of this technology

A non-intrusive method to capture an image of a patient's entire head comfortably

Increased likelihood of dental implant success

Improved diagnostic accuracy

Reduced risk of nerve damage during procedures

Decreased chair time

THE PERIOLASE® MVP-7™

What is the PERIOLASE® MVP-7™ laser and what is the LANAP® Protocol?

The LANAP protocol is a cutting-edge, patient-friendly laser-based treatment for patients with gum disease to help them achieve a healthier smile. The procedure involves no cutting and no suturing, making it more comfortable and less invasive than traditional periodontal surgery.

Cleared by the FDA in 2004, the LANAP protocol can only be done with the PerioLase® MVP-7, a laser operating at a specific wavelength that attacks the bacteria contributing to gum disease while leaving healthy tissue intact. At Flatiron Family Dental, we offer this procedure to patients to help them maintain a beautiful and healthy smile.

Benefits of Using a LANAP® Protocol Dental Laser For Patients

Faster Healing

The LANAP® Protocol is minimally invasive and allows the body to recover and heal faster

Less Discomfort

Patients report less discomfort during and after the procedure

Little to No Gum Recession

Because the procedure doesn’t require cutting the gums, there is less risk of recession.

Minimal Recovery Time

Most patients can immediately return to their daily routine following surgery.

Saves Teeth

Patients can often retain their natural teeth, even when they have been deemed ‘hopeless’ with traditional treatments.

Reduction in Gum Inflammation and Bleeding

The PerioLase® MVP-7TM targets inflammatory bacteria without injuring healthy tissue.

Safe For Patients With Health Concerns

The LANAP® Protocol is a safe option for
patients with health concerns such as diabetes, HIV, hemophilia, or those taking blood
thinners.

What is the LAPIP® Protocol?

Proven Success for Saving Implants

Protect your implant investment with a LAPIP Treatment. The LAPIP protocol is the most patient-friendly solution for those with ailing dental implants. Studies indicate 95% of implants with peri-implantitis treated with the LAPIP protocol have been able to reintegrate in the pocket
and stabilize with bone growth of 3-8 threads.

Benefits of The LAPIP Protocol For Dental Implant Restoration

Stop the progression of peri-implant disease for those with dental implants

Destroy bacteria causing inflammation

Save healthy gum tissues

Encourage new bone growth

Can the PERIOLASE® MVP-7™ laser be used for anything else?

Treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorder

The PerioLase can be used to administer Low Level Laster Therapy (LLLT), or biostimulation, to the TMJ and its supporting muscles to reduce inflammation and decrease pain in patients who suffer from TMD. The treatment is not invasive, only takes a few minutes to administer, and the
results can be immediate!

Benefits of TMJ Biostimulation

Relieve pain associated with TMJ

Relax TMJ muscles

Stimulate body’s natural healing response to targeted area by increased blood flow
